How to convert plastic into petrol
Hii, This is Parmar Akshay, Today I am giving you information about:
How to convert plastic into Petrol
For making petrol or diesel there are lots of method but most useful method is pyrolysis.
From this flow sheet we understand how to make petrol.
plastic is sliced and then heated to about 400 ° C in an oxygen-free chamber (known as the pyrolysis process).
As the plastic boils, the gas separates and the fuel collects in a container. Not all plastics can convert to fuel, so we should know which plastics can be covered in fuel
Classification of plastics:
👉1.Plastics are usually classified by the polymer's backbone and their chemical composition of side chains is done.
👉 2. Plastics can also be classified by chemical processes used in their synthesis, such as condensation, polynomial, and cross-linking.
👉3. There are two types of plastics: -Athoplastics -Interosating grade of plastics can be converted into fuel
1. Pure hydrocarbons, such as polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP), produce fuel after burning in the absence of oxygen will do.
2. PVC produces large amounts of chlorine and it will contaminate the reactor and pollute the environment.
3. PETE releases oxygen into the chamber thus slowing down the processing. 51% residue by weight remaining after burning of these plastics. The fuel color is yellow.
4. HDPE (molasses) and LDPE (bags and films) are basically polyethylene which is also usable as a fuel, with just a little more pollution as a heavy heavy fuel. But additional processing can also turn HDPE into a clean diesel.
Applications of plastics to fuel:
1. Burners of boilers, furnaces, generators, hot water, etc.
2. Thermic fluid heaters and burners of hot mix plants.
3. Other industrial burners
4. Electric generator (mixed with 50% diesel)
5. Diesel pump (mixed with 50% diesel)
